One more article in the DN, saying Pedro wants to come back.
Said his agent: “He’s not ready to retire. He had a tough year, first with the injury and then with the death of his dad. It took a toll. But Pedro’s put all of that behind him. He’s very competitive and would like to finish his career strong,” Cuza said. “He feels fantastic and he’s been working hard.”
Personally turn the page on Pedro. Even at a reasonable rate, say $3 million, it’s just too much to take a flyer on Pedro. And right now, you are taking a flyer.

I looked back thru all these posts and didn’t find an answer from you Joe. I’m outta here.
Harry,
That’your choice, but I am not going to make this a public he said, she said thing. Feel free to email me at JoeMcDonald@nysportsday.com and I will be more than glad to discuss this in private.
$3 million is too much to take a flyer on a Hall Of Famer who’s motivated and past the grieving process over a sick/dying father? Yet taking a flyer that John Maine will return at full strength and remain healthy and that Jon Niese can be a 200 inning 5th starter is a better option? These types of low risk high reward signings are what separate the Mets from a lower payroll team, not just the big splashes. Niese will be in the wings should Pedro or Maine falter, where is the harm? If you can show me how this $3 million contract will preclude the Mets from siging a bigger fish, I may agree, but in my opinion that’s nonsense.
Please not Pedro and all his aches and pains again. There are other dumb GM’s out there that are willing to pay him for being on the DL all year.Let them have him.
