I want to announce that John has left this blog for another venture. This was his decision and we wish him well as he pursues other opportunities.
That being said, I will keep this space running for the time being and over the next few months, I will be looking for other writers to join me as we bring you the Mets as they happen.
Right now, though, I will be running the NY Mets Report as the Hot Stove League heats up. Next month, I will be in Las Vegas for the Winter Meeting and will be blogging live from the Bellagio as the trades happen.
And for those of you who don’t know me. My name is Joe McDonald and I am going on my fifth season covering the Mets. Currently I am the Assistant Editor of Mets Inside Pitch magazine, the Managing Editor of NY Sportscene Magazine and the Editor of NYSportsDay.com. In the summer, I was always at Shea and this season I plan on being at Citi Field when they open the new joint.
Without any further ado, I would be more than glad to answer any questions you may have.
Joe

WTF?
Say it ain’t so Joe… whoops old news.
Good luck Joe. Doesn’t Delcos ever say good bye?
I hope folks stay here because it has been an easy site to use and the discussion has been great.
I understand if Delcos found another position somewhere else, but it’s a bunch of bullshit that he didn’t personally say goodbye to us all. If he opens up another blog, i’m not going to be there that’s for sure.
Anyway, Joe welcome aboard. Inside Pitch is a fine magazine.
I agree Steve the original: His new site introduces him by saying he is bringing this site with him, but that obviosly is not the case since Joe has taken his name and picture down.
Go read Joe’s Ny SportsDay and the Mets forum.
You’ll never find a more vicious, pathetic and absolutely putrid set of people on the board. You’d think the Mets were back in their early-mid 90s stage the way those idiots talk.
Plus, 85% of the board isn’t even about the Mets. Ever thread just bottoms out with insults and queer jokes.
This place is going to suck now with Joe moderating it. And if you think I’m kidding, just go to the site and see for yourself.

I have a question Joe, how can you allow that forum to be such an utter piece of crap?
That place should be shut down.

New York, NY (PRWEB) November 12, 2008 — Gotham Sports Media, LLC is proud to announce that veteran sports writer John Delcos is joining the company as Editor at Large.
Delcos, who has spent most of the last two decades covering pro sports, will contribute to all of Gotham Sports Media’s properties, including Gotham Baseball Magazine, Gotham Sports Radio’s network of shows and the company’s newest website; GothamGridiron.com. For the past ten years, Delcos has covered baseball; the last three covering the New York Mets and seven on the Yankees’ beat before that. Prior to New York, he covered the Baltimore Orioles for eight years, and before then the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns, and briefly the Pittsburgh Steelers..
“I am thrilled to be joining Gotham Sports Media,” Delcos said. “I’m looking forward to a long and prosperous working relationship with Mark Healey and his company.”

it will only turn into that kind of board if we start acting like it so lets not
I’m with you Jim…but he’s going to continue to post links from here over there to drum up interest.
That’s the last I’ll say about it, but you just wait…and seriously, click on the link I supplied and go over there…you’ll see.
Jason: What is your rag? I think we are all smart enough to make our own judgements about this site in the future. so go away and we’ll each decide for oursleves.
Eat it Chiti.
Judging from the above post, looks the bar has already been lowered.
Eat it gravedigger
I responded to Jason in the other thread, but frankly Jason, it seems like you are the one with all the name calling ect… here.
If you don’t want to give me a chance, and feel loyal to John, that’s fine. But don’t complain about how NYSD’s forum is run and start insulting people here for not agreeing with you.
Eat it Joe
Yep, obviously Jason is the troll. And such clever responses too! lol
Eat it Jason
…….if you’re here to insult people…..you’re here for the wrong reason……if you’re here to add intelligent discussion to this board…….you’re here for the right reason…..but so far it appears you’re here for the wrong reason.
